Electrician Pegasus

Pegasus is a master-planned town beside Woodend, 25 kilometres north of Christchurch, designed for about 1,700 house sites and up to 6,000 people. Earthworks began in 2006, the first titles were issued in January 2008, and by May 2016 more than 950 houses had been completed or were under construction.

Because Pegasus homes are recent, our work here is mostly adding to modern installations: EV chargers, solar, outdoor lighting, security cameras and extra power points for homes around Lake Pegasus and beyond.

Common Home Types in Pegasus

Pegasus homes have been built since the first titles were issued in 2008, so they have modern switchboards, plastic-sheathed wiring and RCD protection. Before adding an EV charger, heat pump or spa, we check for spare ways on the board and capacity on the supply.

What Pegasus Conditions Mean for Your Wiring

Pegasus is north of the Waimakariri River, so it is on the MainPower network. MainPower approves solar up to 10 kW single phase with a default 10 kW export limit for small customers, and inverters must meet AS/NZS 4777.2:2020. Frosts are common across Canterbury in the cooler months, so heat pump circuits are worth planning in.
